Post biopsy update:

So today started off well. Some early morning boating distraction therapy courtesy of my good friend Jason. Rushed back to get to the hospital in time and did, which you saw earlier. I knew the biopsy was going to suck, but it was even suckier than hoped.

See they had to go through my ribs and lung to get to the tumor. Yeah just by that description you know it’s not gonna be good. To start it off the IV placement was going well. My veins just haven’t been cooperating lately. First one showed signs of failing so they tried again...and again. Third one took. Then the biopsy.

Laying there on your stomach, holding your breath carefully while they scan, stab and repeat is just not my idea of fun. Still, had to be done. Then it started to hurt, a lot. Yep, sprung a leak and air leaked from the lung into the pleural cavity creating a painful pneumothorax. X-ray confirmed so we got an extended stay through the day while they monitored and scanned again hours later.

On the upside, air pocket is down enough to show it’s headed in the right direction so they released me. Still hurts inside and in the rib puncture area, but home now finally getting to eat something today and will milk this for all it’s worth 😉

Think man cold.

Seriously though feeling much better than earlier this afternoon and glad that’s over. Now we wait for results and start the oral chemo again tomorrow. They told me no cycling for a couple of days. Meanies.
